Dizzzamn…I guess all tha EM supportin finally paid off. I’d been waitin 2 meet him 4 almost 4 years and now I can finally say I have. 4 real, it was crazy! Aiiight aiiight, well, I’d been talkin 2 EM’s publicist, Dennis Dennehy, 4 awhile about helpin helpin me meet EM when he came over here on tour 2 Cali. It took a kool minute 2 find out if I was gonna meet him or not, but it all worked out in tha end.
On tha way 2 tha Chula Vista concert, I got a call from Dennis and he told me 2 call EM’s road manager, Marc LaBelle. I called him up and he was real kool and offered me and my friend, Glor, some passes 2 meet him. He said that EM was flyin on a private plane and would B there around 8pm, so we could pretty much meet him as long as he wasn’t tired and he agreed 2 it. I swear, I was buggin and getting anxious 2 finally meet him.
After tha 3 hour drive, we got 2 tha Coors Amphitheater and we had some pretty good seats. Every1’s performance was dope, but U know I couldn’t wait 4 EM’s performance, right? Right when Luda’s set started, this dude, Liam, came up 2 me and asked if my name was Andrea and I was like, “Yeah…” and he hooked it up w/backstage passes & I was like, “Ohhh shit! We really gonna meet him!” LoL So I was waitin and waitin 2 meet EM and was wonderin wut tha heezy it was gonna B like. After P. Roach’s set, Liam came over and tapped me on tha shoulder and said, “Come on.” I was all surprised and Glor hadn’t even noticed him. I was like, “Yo, we gonna meet EM right now!” Maaan, we were so hyped. I was tellin myself not 2 act like a dumb ass and reminded myself tha he was just a normal person. It was like a fuckin rush makin our way 2 tha gate 2 get backstage. Liam was tellin me that we could talk 2 EM 4 a lil while cuz he had 2 get ready 2 perform and whatnot. I was like, “It’s all good…just 2 meet him is dope enough!”
We crossed tha gate and all I could C were a grip of tour buses and I just kept sayin, “This is crazy!” over and over. LoL We got 2 tha entrance and they searched us b4 we went in. They told us 2 wait there and then Marc LaBelle came up 2 us. We introduced ourselves and we started makin our way in2 tha backstage hallways. He was tellin me that he’d asked EM about meetin me and EM said, “Yeah kool. Lemme meet her.” It was so dope 2 hear that cuz damn, EM coulda just said no cuz he was tired or somethin. I couldn’t stop thankin Marc 4 helpin me out and he was real kool about it and led us 2 tha room where EM was chillin. Paul Rosenberg, his manager, (he really tall!) was standin in front of tha door. We said sup 2 him and thanked him 2. I couldn’t believe how freakin close I was 2 meetin EM, but I stayed kool and they opened tha door after a few minutes.
Paul and Marc let us in…it was Niiiiiiice. LoL I looked around not knowin wut 2 expect. I saw all this catered food, some furniture, a big ass comfy couch (Bizarre and Kuniva were chillin on it!), a TV w/big ass speakers, and then I looked a lil more and EM was standin right fuckin there!! He turned around and looked at me 4 a min and I looked right back at him not really believin it still. I think he expected me 2 B cryin or excited as hell, but I just acted like myself. Me and Glor walked up 2 him and he asked us wut our names were and he shook our hands. I was like, “This is crazy,” and EM was like, “This is crazy?” and laughed. I was all, “It’s EM and Bizarre-tha red headed rapist, and…Damn!” EM helped me out and was like, “This is Kuniva.” I was like, “Yeah, I know, Rondell Beene,” and I shook his hand. Bizarre gave me props and said, “Aww this gurl knows her shit!” and laughed. He got up and shook me and Glor’s hand 2. Paul was tellin EM that Dennis, his publicist, had been wantin me 2 meet EM 4 awhile and EM was all, “Ohh 4 real??” I was all, “Yuuup…Dennis,”-it was crazy talkin 2 him and bein so freakin close 2 him!
Paul brought over some pics of EM and a sharpie so EM could sign them 4 us. EM put his hand out and was like, “Lemme sign it 4 U.” I was like, “Aww really?” cuz I was excited and he was all, “No.” He took tha pic from my hand and I was tellin him not 2 B punk. LoL He asked me wut my name was and started writin w/his left hand. I just kept lookin at his tattoos and tha silver bracelet he usually wears cuz it’s crazy seein them in real life. I asked all them, “So wut? U guyz just chill back here?? That’s tha fuckin life right there,” and they laughed. I thanked him 4 signin tha pic and then he signed Glor’s pic while Bizarre was singin, “Ammeerrrrriiccca!” LoL
Then Paul asked us if we brought cameras and we was like, “Yeah, hold up.” EM was like, “How should we do this?” and started puttin his arm around me 4 tha pic. I was thinkin, “WTF?? This is 4 real?” He told me that he’d heard about me defendin him and everything. It was so kool that he actually knew about me…I didn’t even know wut 2 say. I was all, “Yeah tha GLAAD thing. That was scary.” Marc took tha 1st pic, but Glor was all, “Hey, can we get 1 flippin tha camera off 2?” and EM was like, “Naw. I don’t do that.” We was laughin and like, “Come on, man” and yeah, he did of course. LoL Then Glor asked if she could take 1 of EM alone and he was all, “U mean by myself? Where this gonna end up?” I was like, “Tha internet.” HaHa and he posed 4 it in his chair and she took it. Then Paul and Marc were like, “Aiiight, EM’s gotta get ready soon,” so we got ready 2 say bye 2 EM. B4 we left, I asked him if he ever got a notebook I made him awhile back. I had sent it, but never knew if he got it. I was like, “Yeah, I made U a notebook w/all Ur favorite stuff. It had Taco Bell and South Park.” He was like, “Naw…I woulda remembered Taco Bell.” LoL Paul said he’d try 2 figure out wut happened 2 it, so hopefully he’ll get it soon. But yeah, every1 was tellin EM he had 2 get ready soon and he was all, “Ohh yeah. I gotta show 2 do?” HaHa I knew EM had 2 go perform so I was all, “Thank U so much EM. This means a lot. U tha best!” and he told me “Thank YOU…I loooove yoooou.” LoL We said peace and then we left. It was sooooo dope! I know I’m 1 of tha luckiest people in tha world and I was REALLY thankful I finally got 2 meet him. EM really appreciates his fans, he’s sincere, kinda shy, down 2 earth and funny as hell. And yo, he knows I’m alive now! That was definitely tha best day of my life!
Ohhhh, and dizzamn, his performance was tight-as usual. Every1 around us saw our signed pics and congratulated us. They knew I was crazy cuz durin EM’s set, I was so hyped and was screamin every word 2 every song. My throat was hurtin like a biatch, and when Nate Dogg came out and did “Till I Collapse” w/him, I was trippin! LoL I had no idea that everything was gonna work out tha way it did, but I’m SO grateful and I know I’ll never 4get tha time we had.
